John Lawrence Sullivan S/S08
John Lawrence Sullivan is the creation of Japanese designer Arashi Yanagawa. After spending 4 years as a professional boxer, Yanagawa started John Lawrence Sullivan – the name of the first bare knuckle heavyweight champion of the world. A self taught designer, his influences range from boxing to aviation.
The spring/summer range focuses more on his aviation influences, featuring airplane seatbelts as belts and braces. The boxing influence comes out in the short shorts, which are cut like boxers shorts. While the entire collection is a strong one, the standout pieces are the suits. The sharp tailoring and slim but not too slim fit makes them the most wearable pieces out of the whole collection. Some of his collection is available at Famous Friend boutique.

We’re ardent D.I.E fans here at Brandish. So we could barely contain our excitement when the D.I.E S/S range went up at Oki-Ni. While they do make other items, everyone knows that eye catching t-shirts are their speciality.
