The CAT spring summer collection is out pulling inspiration from urban/street wear looks.
This seasons collections included 1904, Urban Utility and Steel Blue. The1904 collection focuses on vintage inspired distressed graphics and fabric appliquéing, which is worked through trucker caps, soft jersey t-shirts and a checked cotton poplin shirt. The colour palette is primarally made up of navy, khaki and creams. On the other hand the Urban Utility collection features bold graphics in block texts in bright reds, gold and violet. Finally there is the Steel Blue collection which focuses solely on denim. Made with 100% cotton, the classic 5 pocket western style is available in slim, original, straight and bootcut.

Adidas Originals have released the Resplit Lo as a part of their Spring/Summer 2011 collection. Designed around the principals of the GSG9, which was used by the Special Forces, the sneaker mixes both trainer and shoe design for style, durability and comfort. Made from a a light blue canvas and suede upper, the shoe features tonal stitch detailing, contrasting black tongue and black laces, with a classic white rubber sole. Personally I can’t get enough of this colour this season.
The Dock shoe is set to be a big trend this summer, combining statement style and functionality. One brand who does this particularly well is Sebago. Their cult classic Dockside shoe has been re-invented just in time for Spring/Summer 2011.
The dockside is a great way to brighten up your look and maintain casual sophistication throughout the summer months. The collection is hand sewn using coloured, reverse suede leathers, mixing it with a unique two tone finish, complimented with tonal, slip-resistant and non-marking soles.
The shoe is available in both a high and low cut.
The quintessentially British label, Hackett have launched their spring/summer 2011 collection. Comprised of four ranges, Hackett have tried to bring a classy sophisticated look to almost every summer event, whether it be a day in the country, a business engagement or just relaxing by the seaside. Although it is quite a traditional collection, I can’t help but love it. There are just so many timeless pieces worth the investment.
The four ranges include the Correspondent collection, which is inspired by “the globetrotting gentleman”, and incorporates light-weight, warm weather suiting and iconic travel garments, such as safari jackets, chinos and macs, with a contemporary cut and style. The Mayfair collection shows off the classic Hackett tailoring combined with knitwear in summery tones of fresh lilac, warm pink and mint green. The collection is a real blend of sophisticated, casual sportswear. The Caribbean collection continues a travel theme with bold colours and prints on cotton and linen trousers, shorts, polos, casual shirts, and swim wear. Finally the Nautical collection comprises of traditional maritime colours, and key pieces including a double-faced navy jacket with red lining, horizontal striped blazers, lightweight white suiting and nautical striped polo shirts.
For those of you who like the sounds of the collection your in luck because to celebrate the launch of the new season collection, Hackett is giving away an essential Hackett beach kit through their Facebook page. Check out their fan page here for all the details.
On a side note I absolutely love the photography for the collection. You can see more images on their Flickr page here
A first look at River Islands Mens Spring Summer 2011 collection has now been released, and we were pleasantly surprised. Despite the fact the high st shop has opted to go with a fairly conservative colour palette, composed primarily of neutral tones with lots of blue denim, they have created a number of strong looks. It also seems as thought they are counting on a warm summer, with lots of tailored shorts included. What did you think of the collection?
