Thule Crossover Collection – Luggage For The Sports Enthusiast

By Laura on December 13th, 2010

The snowboarding season has just kicked off, and last week I was lucky enough to go on a last minute snowboarding trip to Switzerland. Before I left the nice people over at Thule, sent me the 56 Liter Rolling Duffel to test out.
The bag is part of the Thule Crossover Collection,  which has been specifically designed for boarders and skiers. The Swedish company Thule, is the world leader in travel racking systems. The Crossover Collection marks there entry into luggage, and they have done a fabulous job.

I was very impressed with the number of highly functional features in the Crossover collection, such as the heat-molded, crush-proof SafeZone for goggles or other fragile gear, the durable molded exoskeleton exterior, and the separate spaces for helmets, gloves, clothing, ski boots, footwear, etc.
The bag also has oversized wheels for smooth mobility, and aluminum telescoping handles. Overall I found the Crossover collection to be very well thought out and perfect for transporting your equipment securely, safely and of course in style.

Although the duffel is probably a bit to large to take as carry on, I was able to sneak it on to my flight. However, if you don’t want to take your chances, they do have a rolling carry on bag as well.

The 56 Liter Rolling Duffel is available for $289.99. To check out the rest of the line go here

Raf Simons X Eastpak at Asos

Raf Simons‘ AW colab with Eastpak is one of his most conventional yet but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing worth buying.
The shiny finish looks the best on the duffle bag, which would make a great bag for the weekend or the gym. The creased finish adds a twist to the classic Eastpak shape making a great bag for those who want a bit of fashion with their functionality. The one I’m least sure about is the check with patches, is it just me or does it look a bit Rage Against the Machine fan art?

WISHLIST: Blend Swimshorts from Juju Brighton

By Will Reid on July 15th, 2008

jujuswim.jpgI am going back to Mumbai mid-August and top of my WISHLIST are a pair of swimshorts. I would attempt trunks but don’t share David Gandy’s body (unfortunately) and want to be able to spend this summer without holding the stomach in and clenching the buttocks.

These shorts by Blend, and found at the shop Juju in Brighton (as seen on Mary Queen of Shops,), are perfect for an on-trend swimwear look. The monochrome palette tones down the loud print and suits the season’s minimalistic look.

Brandish Special: Men of Mumbai

By Will Reid on June 4th, 2008

mumbai9.jpgAfter visiting Mumbai I am more convinced than ever that fashion is one of those things that unites the World. In these let few days I have seen a harsh and gripping poverty but also a vibrancy and pride that made for some great sights. Prepare for home-made man bags, children challenging fashion rules and prints that wouldn’t look out of place on a Burberry runway. There is no insensitivity intended here but an appreciation for the contagious positivity so inspirationally radiated by these young Men of Mumbai.

Keep reading for great street-style shots and a rather phenomenal blend of fabrics, styles and looks.

Trends: Watch and Wear- Fashion’s Pick ‘n’ Mix

By Will Reid on March 26th, 2008

brandishreidtrendwatch.jpgSince the beginning of time, life, and our own existence, man has been fascinated with choice. From peace protests to monumental civil rights movements, we have always had a taste for the mish-mash aspect of life. This obsession with accessibility has been translated onto the season’s catwalks, designers showed a mixture of fabrics and styles to form a collage of culture and a sartorial storyboard of their travels.

From Dries Van Noten to Miu Miu, this was a look that designers embraced and with its increasing popularity among the fash-pack it is one that I’m sure will make a splash in the coming months.

WISHLIST: Globetrotter Suitcase

By Will Reid on February 25th, 2008

92064_1_3I just got back from holiday (not trying to rub it in!) and one of the biggest problems I had; apart form the lack of language, skin-peeling shower and being force-fed Sky News 24/7, was that my luggage was almost impossible to recognise from the conveyor belt and at one point even picked up by a suspiciously befuddled old man.  Therefore, I have decided to invest in proper luggage with Joan Collins-style luggage awareness.

I have found this case from Globetrotter that looks set to fit the bill. In navy blue leather and delicious 100% leather, this suitcase is an 18-inch trolley case and great for a short mini-break. Now don’t be expecting to pack for a Summer Holiday fashion extravaganza but to quote form this WISHLIST item’s Browns description- “Be chic as you travel.”

Prepare for the Conveyor-belt laps and see after the jump for a different view of the case.
