With the hippin’ and the hoppin’ and the bippin’ and the boppin’… I love Bill Cosby, even in his awful film Ghost Dad he is endearing. So why doesn’t anyone want his jumpers?
The NY Times describes the one in the middle as ‘the Saved by the Bell theme song in knitted form’ and they’re not wrong. Cosby has donated his jumpers to raise money for the educational organisation set up after the death of his son Ennis Cosby. The jumpers represent the pinnacle of ’80s excesses in knitwear at their fit-inducing best and as such I’m quite surprised no one has bid yet.
It might have something to do with the $5,000 starting price but hey, the postage is free!
So David Blaine once again hits the headlines thanks to his feat of staying underwater for 17 minutes and 4 seconds, breaking his previous record. For the event, which was screened on Oprah, Blaine donned a fancy silver catsuit and looked like some kind of superhero.
Although with superpowers like holding his breath and card tricks I don’t much fancy his chances at saving my life.
Lost is back and apparently they’re tying up all the loose ends mystical plotlines and the meaning of those damn polar bears or the black smoke! Thank god because I really didn’t have a clue what was going on. If you missed season three or you saw it and you’re still confused then srsly you guys you could do with a recap. More importantly though, to get into the spirit of things you’ll need to dress like your favourite Lost character. They’re all there, Ben, Sayid, Locke, Jake, Hurley, and Charlie (hasn’t he come a long way since Hetty Wainthropp?!). My favourite Lost character is Locke so I guess I’ll be shaving my head, grabbing a weapon and donning some wilderness gear!
On Monday night, a new show began on BBC4. It involved bitterness, plotting, anger and plenty of drama but fear not, we are not witnessing the creation of yet another reality TV special but instead the tailor’s tales of Savile Row. This program is focused mainly on the reaction of the street’s traditional shop-owners to the recently launched Abercrombie & Fitch store and their anger at the putting of such an erotically-charged and teen-aimed brand on a street associated with the world’s most exquisite tailors and finest males. It’s strangely amusing to see the bitchiness of these “gentleman’s gentlemen” and it’ll be no time before you’ve been drawn into the high street high jinks and silent catfights. So sit down, pick a side and stick to it – unless you are willing to incur the wrath of the scary-looking shop assistant who seems to spend his entire working day peering out of the window.

If you’ve splashed out on an uber expensive flatscreen TV make the most of it with a Lightascope. You can get the panels in three sizes from $99 to $199 and they will transform your TV into a fabulous ever changing work of art. Better than Bid-Up TV at any rate!
I’ve got a bit of a soft spot for Patrick Wolf; as a 14-year old he started performing with cult band Minty starting a career in music that has seen him produce three albums, his latest release, ‘The Magic Position’ came out in February. Wolf’s a bit of an indie darling so I was really surprised to see him on the Charlotte Church show, and even more surprised when he performed a cover of Prince’s "When Doves Cry" with her. It’s by no means as good as the Beth Ditto and Jarvis Cocker duet at the NME awards a few months back, and it takes a while for Charlotte’s voice to warm up but it’s great.
