While we do feature some pricier items here on Brandish, we also do fashion for the masses. So when news of Uniqlo’s mini sale came to us, we had to let you all know about. Focusing exclusively on outerwear, Uniqlo have cut prices of their double breasted trench coat to £29.99 and their cotton jacket to £19.99.
Julie Verhoeven, the artist and fashion-collaboration extraordinaire has designed a set of t-shirts with her illustrations of animals and other strange creatures. Vogue UK reports that Verhoeven’s fun and frivolous tees are in-store now for both guys and girls at £50 each. Verhoeven relays that “the artwork for the T-shirts came about by wanting a little bit of loopyness for …
Chino’s are the perfect mix of jean and trouser, but it was excruciatingly difficult to get hold of great fitting chino’s as they’re still a rather American item. This all changed with Uniqlo’s Vintage flat front chino’s. Whilst the price point is usually the selling point with Uniqlo – and at £25, it’s a great price – the detailing is what makes this piece stand out.
From Marc Jacobs to Topman, McQ to Uniqlo, short shorts have undoubtedly secured their place as the menswear item of the season – and possibly the year. If I said they needed an adopter than we at Brandish are basically an orphanage. We have given you examples of short shorts in a spectrum of colours, fabrics and prints and Jason even took it to a political platform!
Tim Hamilton has designed a collection for Uniqlo and it’s a nicely filtered version of his own stuff. Tim said: “Merging refined elegance with youthful energy, this collection took as a source the modern, playful images of Bruno Munari’s photo-reportage.
New York label Loden Dager are the latest in an
increasing line of designers to team up with Uniqlo,
creating a Spring/Summer mini collection. The collection is strong, with the
check shirt being the only really ugly piece on it. Some might say it’s a bit
dull but it’s a collection designed for high street consumption, so that
criticism is like complaining that you can’t wear Gareth Pugh’s collection to Tesco.
If you’ve looked at our Jeans coverage in
the past then you’ll know all about raw & selvedge denim. You’ll also know
that the best selvedge denim comes from Japan. Not necessarily all denim from
Japan is expertly made on great looms and this is why Burton’s attempt
at Japanese denim is a bit cheeky.
This has been a week for breaking promises.
We’ve broken our cardigan promise and our Topman promise (I’m not sure we made
one, but stay with me here) and now I’m about to break our winter coat promise.
What can I say? As Blue (featuring Elton John) would say, Sorry is the hardest
word to say.
A couple of weeks ago, I suggested a Paul Smith cashmere
scarf as a Christmas gift. If you bought it, return it now! Right now! Why are
you still reading this and not returning that scarf?
Sales are great. Sales at places which are already pretty damn cheap are even better. So the Uniqlo sale is the betterest sale going, pretty much.
