WISHLIST: Chanel Resort Jumpers

By Will Reid on May 19th, 2008

chanel.jpgResort season is always a bit of a drag for me; overly-frivolous (yes I see the haute-couture irony) and just another season to get my head around, the jump from cashmere coats to cruise is always too much. Karl Lagerfeld’s show for Chanel was proving nauseatingly frilly and I would challenge any British man not to feel melancholic at the sight of a male model in pink tie-dye. That was until Brad Koenig swaggered down the runway wearing that Chanel jumper. You may think that referring to a item as that only three days after it made its debut might be slightly forward but it’s cashmere, a jumper, Chanel and now on Brandish’s WISHLIST. Need I say more?

WISHLIST: River Island Marvel Cap

By Will Reid on May 14th, 2008

riverislandmarvel.jpgNow I know for a fact that I wasn’t the only one disappointed with Met Gala-attending celebrities lack of Superhero costume inspiration. In fact, Zac Posen was the only attendee who matched up to my high standards of fancy-dress. Therefore, I was delighted when I came across this River Island cap with Marvel Comic decoration (Persil, Armani, River Island- what isn’t Marvel on at the moment!) The only River Island I have ever entered outside the realm of cyber-space was in Fife, Scotland and the fact that the staff could collectively set up a tattoo and piercing parlour helped me to never return. Add to this that I was once told I don’t have a “hat-face,” I was understandably cautious of putting this on my WISHLIST. No longer shall I worry as this cap has enough Wham! Zap! Pow! to last me at least another month of pretending I could wear it.

Marvel Cap, £12.99, River Island

WISHLIST: Rykiel Homme T-Shirt

By Will Reid on April 2nd, 2008

rykiel.jpgThis shirt from Rykiel Homme is perfect for the season. Dark with a touch of colour it is fresh and non-fussy as well as being a quirky classic. From the über stylish Start Boutique, it would honestly work with just about any item. 100% cotton with stripes of black, white, grey, blue, lilac and green it also features a ribbed collar and sleeves and could be unisex with its balance of masculine and feminine tones. I would style it with white skinny jeans, the gorgeous blue brogues Richard posted about (please be released!,) a vintage velvet blazer and my silver watch. This is a label I definitely have my eye on. T-Shirt, £99.50, Start Boutique

WISHLIST: Paul Smith Pyjamas

By Will Reid on March 27th, 2008

1 PAULSMITHPJS(2).jpg
“Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” If good old Coco Chanel was right (which really isn’t a question) then there is really no reason to feel as guilty as I do about desiring these pricey PJs from Paul Smith. Prepare yourself now for some major alliteration.

WISHLIST: Shag Fleece Hoody from American Apparel

By Will Reid on March 7th, 2008

ServeaspAbout a week ago, my colleague Jason posted on a pair of pretty cool purple trainers. Continuing on the trend of purple items (remember what I said about us inheriting last’s season’s woman trends?) I bring you this Shag Fleece Hoody from American Apparel.

It is zip-up and light enough to wear during the summer and thin enough to layer with other items during the colder months- British summer included. It is unisex and therefore more fitted which for some is a devil in disguise. It has a kangaroo pocket and ribbed waistband and cuffs. The shag is on the outside which may sound cheap but trust me is better than the knit-rag effect of having it anywhere else. Available in brown, mustard, blue and soon black, it is little wonder that this is one of the brand’s highest rated items.

WISHLIST: Globetrotter Suitcase

By Will Reid on February 25th, 2008

92064_1_3I just got back from holiday (not trying to rub it in!) and one of the biggest problems I had; apart form the lack of language, skin-peeling shower and being force-fed Sky News 24/7, was that my luggage was almost impossible to recognise from the conveyor belt and at one point even picked up by a suspiciously befuddled old man.  Therefore, I have decided to invest in proper luggage with Joan Collins-style luggage awareness.

I have found this case from Globetrotter that looks set to fit the bill. In navy blue leather and delicious 100% leather, this suitcase is an 18-inch trolley case and great for a short mini-break. Now don’t be expecting to pack for a Summer Holiday fashion extravaganza but to quote form this WISHLIST item’s Browns description- “Be chic as you travel.”

Prepare for the Conveyor-belt laps and see after the jump for a different view of the case.

WISHLIST: Lanvin Trainers

By Will Reid on February 8th, 2008

87927_11 These trainers from Lanvin are a great accessory and subtle pick-me-up for that day when you don’t feel too great and all your designer logo shirts are in the wash. Being the king of understated luxury, Alber Elbaz knows that us guys don’t want flash labels and black market-copied logos but an inner boost that in this instance comes in the shape of a 100% leather and suede-shoe. These trainers are lace-up, navy suede and have white soles and a patent-leather toe. They have been so popular at Brown’s that the only size left is a UK 11 and it is hardly a surprise seeing as buyers are swiping the entire Lanvin Homme collection for their store. And as if that wasn’t enough, they are down to £205 in the sale-add them to your shopping bag and walk your way to fashion heaven.
